IDEAS FOR BRINGING CUSTOMERS
By Davida "The Clipper Cut Queen" Leary

In a field that is so cluttered you have to stand out in order to be recognized.  Find a niche and use it to entice the public.  Whenever they see anything relating to that niche your business will instantly come to mind.

In addition to flyers, postcards and other forms of marketing, word of mouth is the best!  As well as most consistant.  When you perform a great service it never goes unnoticed.  Don't be afraid to cash in on that advantage.  Offer your clients special incentives, eg. (Bring  two new customers and get $5 off of your service.)  Offer weekly specials, senior specials, city worker specials.  These small extentions of gratitude weigh in high on the business ethics scale.  The community enjoys spending money with businesses who give back.

Questions for the Queen
By Davida The Clipper Cut Queen

Q. Hey Davida. I'm about to get a booth in a shop. I'm excited. Are there any tips or advice you can give me now about working in a shop?
A. Pay close attention to the sharpest barbers.  It will help you get your game up!

Q. Is there a way to seal the spray after you done with the cut so it won't get on your hands or other objects when you touch the hair?
A. I always recomend starting with a freashly shampooed head of hair. Once Black Ice dries on the hair, it bonds with the hairs natural fibers and does not run wipe or sweat off.  If the hair has oil or greasy products in it then the spray won't stick. Oh yea, and a little spritz helps to seal it in.
